In 1975, the owner, Terry Lindsey, became employed with the local Ford Dealership at the age of 17. Terry is a certified ASE master mechanic and also serves on the advisory board for the Bowling Green Vocational School Technical College and the Warren County Public Schools Auto Mechanics Class. Terry has almost always had a connection and passion with the automobile as he grew up around a service station that his grandfather owned in the sixtys and was also fascinated with the sport of drag racing. Terry is a member of the National Hot Rod Association and has been participating in drag racing with his vintage Camaro since 1975.
After nine years of employment he was promoted to service manager of the new Toyota Dealership in 1984. On January 1st 1985 Lindsey Automotive Inc., was opened in an old warehouse on Broadway and Indianola Avenue in Bowling Green, KY, with only one employee. In 1990 Lindsey Automotive was offered the opportunity to move in to a new building on Scottsville Road behind Loid and Mckinny Motors next to the Bowling Green Regional Airport entrance. At that time there were four employees. In August, 1994 we purchased the current location at 1343 Old Louisville Road next to Grinsteads Home Furnishings. Today, Lindsey Automotive currently has 6 employees.
In September, 2005, Auto became a part of Lindsey Automotive. She is deep gray in color. She came to our door in dire need of a home, for which we graciously extended to her. Auto is very personable, She enjoys meeting people and has many friends. She receives gifts from her friends throughout the year, for which she is appreciative. On any given day you may find her on or under the front counter, lying in the window sill enjoying the sun or asleep in her cozy bed. Her early morning hours are spent playing; running up and down her climbing pole, and tumbling through her nylon play squares. We feel very fortunate to have Auto. After all, how many businesses have a guard CAT?
